Foods to fight gout

If food is one of the causes of gout, then you will be pleased to know that you can also get gout relief with food. You just need to lay off the purine-rich foods for a long time, and seek out the kinds of foods that will help you get rid of gout and lower uric acid levels in your body. One of the foods that you should look for is cherries and cherry juice, specifically black cherry. This is because cherries contain flavonoids that help reduce the amount of inflammation in a body. Studies have shown that gout sufferers who consume cherries see positive results in their condition. Along with cherries, make sure you also eat strawberries and blueberries.

You won't be restricted to eating solely fruits to fight your gout. You can still eat dairy and vegetables, even if some vegetables contain purine; they won't aggravate your gout.
